As noted, Rob Van Dam has been announced as wrestling for Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion in Houston, Texas on 1/11 at the at the Clear Lake Sports and Recreation Center.
WWE wants him at the Royal Rumble PPV. At the time, WWE wanted to lock him in through Extreme Rules in April, which would have been longer than the 90 day window RVD had agreed to for his return to the company.
So, the booking for Booker T's group could be a warm-up for his WWE return.
