The show starts with footage of Jay and Mark Briscoe showing up at the building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jay is carrying the belt and Mark tells him to get his head straight, that they have to go in there and do what they have to and Jay has to be a man about it. Jay says he wants to go home.
After the musical opening Kevin Kelly previews tonight’s ROH World Title Tournament finals between Michael Elgin and Adam Cole. Kelly says we will hear from former ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe.
Footage is shown of Adam Cole vs Mark Briscoe from the first round of the tournament, Jay Lethal in the second round and Tomasso Ciampa in the semi-finals. Cole is interviewed while the footage is shown and says that for weeks now all he has talked about is wins and losses and with the tournament wins and losses have never meant more. He says his goal is to become the next ROH World Champion.
Footage is shown of Michael Elgin beating Paul London in the first round, Karl Anderson in the second round and Kevin Steen in the semi-finals. Kelly says that Elgin was # 1 contender when the world title was vacated and he could have been handed the title but he insisted on a sixteen-man tournament.
Jay and Mark Briscoe are shown backstage with Mark telling Jay to keep his cool and that Nigel McGuinness would be out there. Jay says that McGuinness could have at least stood up for him. Jay is then shown coming to ringside with the ROH World Title belt. Kelly says that Jay will relinquish the title to the winner of the tournament. Jay grabs the microphone and says that if you want to be successful in this life you’ve got to work hard and put the work in. He talks about ROH starting eleven years ago at the Murphy Rec Center and says he has spent most of his adult life here trying to make ROH the best company it can be. Jay talks about winning the ROH Title from Kevin Steen and says that apparently the ROH higher-ups don’t feel he can defend the ROH title because of a shoulder injury. He asks how Nigel McGuinness can say that when he defended the title with a biceps injury. Jay says he realizes that Nigel is just the messenger. Jay says he will hand the belt over tonight but as soon as he is cleared to wrestle he plans to challenge for the title.
After a commercial break a vignette is shown for Outlaw Inc. of Eddie Kingston and Homicide and we are told they will debut next week.
Nigel is in the ring and says that there will be three judges at ringside in the event that there is not a clear winner after sixty minutes. Nigel introduces the judges as former ROH Owner Cary Silkin, current ROH CEO Joe Koff, and current ROH Talent Scout Prince Nana.
