- TNA Championship Match: Bobby Roode (c) vs. Austin Aries
We get a really well put together video package highlighting the events that have led up to Aries’ road to a title match. All of the video packages tonight have been well done, and I have to say that I think this has easily been one of the best built up matches Roode has had during his entire title reign.
The entrances:
Austin Aries is the first man to make his way out to the ring, and he’s got a pretty spiffy new ‘Greatest Man That Ever Lived’ cape. He gets a nice pop on his way out to the ring.
Bobby Roode is out next, and the champ doesn’t get nearly the same kind of reaction.
After formal ring introductions from JB, we’re ready to kick off our main event of the evening.
The start:
The bell rings and the crowd immediately rallies in Aries’ corner. Roode backs Aries into the corner, but breaks cleanly. Another lock up and Aries backs Roode up into the ropes, breaking clean but giving him a little tap on the chest. Another lock up and Roode goes to work on Aries’ arm, taking him down to his knees. Aries is able to roll around and out of the hold, reversing things and working on Roode’s arm. Roode pushes Aries off and hits a shoulder block. Aries responds with a drop toe hold and he rolls the champ up for two. Aries locks up Roode’s legs and clamps on an STF before floating over.
Mid-match notes:

Roode is able to lock on a head scissor, but Aries fights out, only to find himself in another one. Aries does a headstand and pops out, dropkicking Roode in the face. Roode heads to the outside, so Aries heads to the top and leads to the outside with a double sledge.
