– The idea of doing another Triple H vs. Curtis Axel match was dropped over the past week. The original plans called for another match between Axel and “H” at SummerSlam. It should also be noted that prior to the major re-writes on Monday night, HHH/Axel was scheduled to headline RAW. Obviously, that didn’t end up happening.
– One WWE source noted that it was “beyond obvious” that Vince McMahon was hoping the AJ Lee vs. Kaitlyn match at WWE Payback would outshine the Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell match from TNA Slammiversary. That obviously didn’t happen but the two still had a decent match.
