- On this past weeks RAW, Vince McMahon made sure that when the announcers mentioned the term Royal Rumble, they had to specify it as “Royal Rumble match” or “Royal Rumble pay-per-view.”
- WWE officials went back and forth on whether or not the match with The New Age Outlaws vs. Cody Rhodes and Goldust on last Friday’s SmackDown would be for the WWE Tag Team Titles. They ended up going with the non-title match and added the title match to the Royal Rumble.
